How our products are made

Our products are made by Selyn Exports (Pvt) Ltd, which is Sri Lanka’s only World Fair Trade-certified handloom company. They engage the traditional Sri Lankan community of weavers in producing authentic handloom-based products.

The handloom is rooted in Sri Lankan history. While the industry faces competition from mass-produced fabrics, Selyn is reviving this heritage while improving the living standards of rural workers by providing them with sustainable employment.

Combining traditional craftsmanship with an eye for modern design trends.

The dye house is responsible for the amazing vibrant colours.

Plastic is not fantastic

Many modern fabrics contain plastics like polyester, nylon and acrylic. Every time they are washed, they shed millions of plastic microfibres that pass through wastewater treatment plants and end up in the sea. Evidence has shown that sea creatures are eating these toxic fibres and passing them up the food chain.

Our hand-loomed fabrics are made from eco-friendly raw materials.
